Question XChat 1.x channel mode toolbar absent in version 2.x

Hi people!

I have a silly question for all you XChat gurus out there. XChat 1.x had a very neat toolbar that I got very much attached to. It was the channel mode toolbar which existed at the top of each XChat tab/window and provided several buttons that allowed to set and unset the most commonly used channel modes by simply clicking that button. The current channel modes were also reflected by the buttons (for example if the "M" button appeared pushed in, the channel was set to +m, i.e. moderated mode).

It looks something like this:

and it normally appears on the right-hand side of the text box where the current channel topic is.

My question is: what the heck happened to these buttons in version 2? That was the first thing that I noticed when I got version 2, and quite frankly the lack of that toolbar was enough for me not to upgrade to version 2.

Does anyone know if this toolbar is available in version 2 of XChat? If yes, then do you know if it's possible to customize it (i.e. add and remove buttons for specific channel modes to/from it)?

If you have a suggestion that can work as a workaround to my dilemma, I welcome it. The best thing I can think of is defining these buttons on the toolbar at the bottom of the userlist, but I usually reserve that area for other things related to the actual chatters (e.g. kick, query, DCC send, e.t.c.) and channel management. The layout and the location of the 1.x channel mode toolbar was just too sweet and I have no idea why the heck it got removed...

Thanx in advance!
