XawTV segmentation fault

I just installed XawTV using synaptic on my Jamd Linux (based on RH) system. However when I try to run it I get a segmentation fault. Any ideas on how to fix it?

When I try to run it from an icon, it just doesn't start; if I run it from a console prompt, I get the "Segmentation Fault" error.

Thanks,
Dave

I am experiencing this as well...
At first, it would actually work on a remote X display (suprising), but not on the local system... but now it segfaults no matter how i run it.

Running RedHat 9, kernel 2.4.20-8, nvidia x server, xawtv version 3.88

Did you fix yours?

I got mine to display with the -noxv-video option. The use of Xvideo is defaulted. My X server has the XVideo extenso, so I do not know why xawtv does not like it.

No sound though.

I also just found this
"The open source NVIDIA driver for X ("nv" not "nvidia") does not support XVideo surfaces for pre-GeForce cards like the TNT2."

I have a TNT2 card, but I use the nvidia driver, but I guess that is why I have to turn off the XVideo support.

I had the same problem till I read and tried running it like this...
/usr/bin/xawtv -device /dev/video0
Now it works.
I tried the -noxv option and it would start but hard lock my system 3 seconds later.
