Question Xampp problems

I moved one xampp from RH9 to Mandrake 10.

I just tared the whole lamp directory and restored it on the same machine after formating.

First Apache doesn't want to start. There's a problem with the mod_unique_id module.

I commented the line from httpd.conf where that module shows up and now apache (at least) starts. However, I'd like to solve this problem. Any ideas.

Now... Mysql doesn't want to start either.

If I do "lampp start" It says it started... but it doen't. I went to the bin directory and ran the server... it says it starts... but (inmediately) says:
mysqld ended (plus the time)

I have been trying to find the log in order to "track" the error, but wasn't able to. What do you think, guys?

Would appreciate help on this (serious job-related stuff).

Thanks!
