X11 doesn't find needed libs

startx only returns, can't find shared lib libX11.so.6

I checked and they are just are where they are supposed to be: /usr/X11R6/lib/

are they in the wrong directory, or do I have to change a config file.

I'm using Navynos(GENTOO like)

does your /etc/ld.so.conf file contain the following line ?

/usr/X11R6/lib

which error do you get when you try to run xterm (/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm) ?

Running ldconfig may fix it.

found it out, I ran xorgconfig again and tada, it worked.(something went wrong the first time apparently

)
