x needs to be doing something to run
startx begins a shell script
if the script doesn't die then x runs the script
if the script dies x dies
the script uses "exec"
to pass window manager to x before it dies
without exec when the script dies x dies
after that when you kill the window manager x dies
"exec" can call anything it doesn't have to be a window manager
when whatever is called by "exec" dies x dies

Il rephrase the question

What i need to do in X-Windows is that
It should only run one application [ a bash script ] in say Xterm.
such that if it dies for some reason it should respawn it self.

if the
NO Kde Menu / NO Panels etc. Some thing like a failsafe session in X windows - Where there are no fancy Menus / Panels etc.

Have tried changing the /usr/lib/X11/xinitrc
but havent had any luck

Hope you get what im trying to say

ok, so change your .xinitrc (in your home dir) so it says something like

xterm &
<name of script>

As far as I know that'll give the desired effect. if you've got issues with big desktop enviroments then try using a simpler window manager like Openbox or maybe even YeahWM if you're extreme enough. Personally I think YeahWM is legendary, but I'm a freak....
