X Question.. Probably easy :)

Hey all.. newcomer here.. I plan to stick around

Just wondering why when I switch from X -> to a console (alt-ctrl-f1) -> back to X

when I retrun to X the palattes are all screwed and I can barely see a thing.. I have to restart the X server all the time..

I'm using XFree86 4.2.0, and have a radeon 9000
have successfully compiled the ati drivers/modules and have direct rendering and all that good stuff working fine.. its just this!

thanks!

duckdown, I'm not sure, could just be a bug. You could just use xterm. I'm not sure why you need to switch out of X so that may not be an option. I hope this helps.
