X -query


Hi all,
I'm using this command for to connect others machines in my PC as a user.

An this machine has Unix.
$X -query 10.222.81.174 -depth 8 :2 for example and is good its working very good, but when I like to switch me in other PC with Windows 2000, I can't make the switch the error is the follow.

FATAL SERVER ERROR:
NO SCREENS FOUND

Do you know how to fix this problem.

Your question was not easy to understand (but it was much better than what I could do if I was trying to describe a problem in Spanish).

If I understood you correctly, you are using XDMCP to make remote connections from one Unix workstation to another. This is working successfully.

I then understood that you were trying to use this method to connect to a Windows 2000 box, and you failed. This would be expected, since Windows 2000 PCs do not typically support XDMCP.

A good tool for connecting remotely between Unix and Windows boxes is VNC.

Es exactamente lo que tu decifraste.
Soy Ing. de hp3070 in-circuit y estos equipos tienen instalado unix.
Acabo de instalar linux en my new PC y nesecito conectarme de mi PC con linux Mdrk 10 a mi vieja PC con Windows 2000 Microsoft debido a que todavia tengo aplicaciones que no tengo en Linux y que nesecito para realizar mi trabajo es por eso que nesecito conectarme via remota a mi desktop con microsoft para mandar un email por ejemplo.
Pero esa informacion que me diste me servira de mucho.
