"X Error of failed request" using FC2

Hi!

I just installed FC2 on my computer (I had no other choice due to compatibility
reasons) and tried to run a Motif program I wrote. It compiled without problems,
but when I try to run it I get a message:

X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 55 (X_CreateGC)
Value in failed request: 0x4400043
Serial number of failed request: 272
Current serial number in output stream: 421

This program was working well on the RH 6.1 and 7.3, Solaris 2.4 and 2.5, and
also on MacOS X. Does anyone have a clue as what might be the trouble?
I have a Sempron with onboard Radeon 9250 (I am using the VESA generic driver
with backingstore enabled).

Thanks, aless

Welcome to LQ

Exactly same thing happened to me today, i was reading notes in KGostView and by mistake i typed 1000 in change size combo box, and it gave me
Code:
X Error of failed request: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)

Major opcode of failed request: 70 (X_PolyFillRectangle)
Resource id in failed request: 0x4c0bb84
Serial number of failed request: 20
Current serial number in output stream: 22
it works with lower values like 100 200 etc.
i dont have solution to your question but it looks like X cannot process some large values. Hope other members will make it clear
