Hi I have dvdshrink operating well under wine, I installed the latest drivers against a source nub from ATI for my radeon 9600, all is fine on my box, then now when I start dvdshrink through wine, x crashes, ctrl+alt+backspace restarts x but I then have lost 3d acceleration from my card. If I start dvdshrink now all is fine. This is the only bug I have left, any ideas?

if u run ur program thriugh the terminal u may get some error messages

or also u can add up the line

*.* /dev/tty12

to ur /etc/syslog.conf

and restart syslog service
and u can view all the errors and output being generated on the tty12 by
ctrl+alt+F12 at the same time

this is the output in the terminal, the first line indicates that I do not have a floop drive so no concerns there as I don't , but then I get a little lost, any ideas..?

prob solved had xwine configured to launch apps in xterm not console, solution was to read the instructions, doh!

i think i'm having the same problem, but i don't understand your answer. can you please explain it to a complete newb?

are you saying wine should launch apps in console instead of xterm? how do i configure my wine to do that?

you will also need winex installed, launch winex, in the bottom left corner is a menu button, navigate to wine config, you are then presented with a graphical config window, open console and change xterm to konsole and all should be good.
