Writing Scripts or Batch files?


Is a script the same as a batch file in dos and if so where do i learn how to write them?
I know how to write basic batch files, I would like to learn do the same in linux. Thanks.

Well, yes, sort of. A script is anything you want it to be, from ultra basic functionality (my level of knowledge) to complexity greater than you can imagine (well probably not really), here's the TLDP on Bash Scripting:

There's others, but that's probably a good place to look.
