Writing a proxy file system driver in linux

I am writing a proxy file system driver in linux which should intercept the file system calls and
call the underlying file system driver ( for eg ext3) throug my proxy driver.
I get unresolved symbol error ext3_file_write
when i try to install the module. i found that ext3_file_write and other ext3 symbols are not exported.
What should be done to export the ext3 symbols without having to recompile the kernel.
