When i open some mpgs my friend sent me, they are blocky and have green blocks with the ones slackware comes with. Realplayer says it cant open mpg. Whats a good video player for linux?
you can just type mplayer in your shell and it will give you the key bindings for navigating around. I think right arrow is fast forward and up arrow is next on playlist. Unfortunately, I have no clue about hte video ratio, if you find out, I'de love 2 know.
I rather disagree. MPlayer probably works differently on different systems.
on me for instance it has problem playing lists. Jumping windows between clips.
Totem however with all the extentions is a piece of art
My sound dosent work unless in "alsamixer" their not all at 81. Every time i reboot into linux i have to reset them all again. How can i make the settings stick?
I never had playlists working correctly with gmplayer.
I've tried several frontends, and settled for kplayer.
Playlists work fine and it also has no troulbes with alsa. Also some nice controls instead of just clicky menus.
