Just kidding (well not really, but that's where I wanna be
). So when it does that (btw the penguin's name is TUX) login and look through your log files. Try to find out what the problem with X starting is. Are you still able to "startx" to get X started? If not, post up your /var/log/XFree86.0.log (I believe that's the file) and specifically the sections that have errors (or at least the last portion of the file that contains the errors). Also post up your /etc/inittab file.
