I believe the package you need is 'win32codecs'. Not sure if you can find it through YUM, have a search...

Get the codecs and put them into the folder that xine looks at. I think that totem, which is a front end to Xine, has a hidden folder in your home folder. /home/you/.totem

Set your file directory to show hidden files and look in their, I forget the exact folder under .totem. Put the codecs in their and .wmv .wma .mov ect will play

Let me start my mandrake box and look.

http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/dload.html

there are the codecs

I think that it is /home/yourmachine/.gnome2/totem-addons

Someone correct me if I got that wrong. I use mplayer and havn't done Xine for a while.

Put the codecs in /usr/lib/win32, thats where totem and other multimedia apps search for them.

Simply untar the archive and then copy the contents into /usr/lib/win32 as root eg,
Code:
$tar -xjvf essential-20050412.tar.bz2
$cd essential-20050412
$su
#mkdir /usr/lib/win32
#cp * /usr/lib/win32/
