WMV streaming
i have been having a trouble running Mplayer on my Fedora 4 laptop. i installed it fine and it played fine , but after two days it started crashing due to wronge gcc compiler. i tried to update my gcc to meet mplayer requirments and that made Mplayer to work fine but it messed up the laptop completley.in addition , i installed Mplayer plugin for firefox which worked very fine ut it caused REALPLAYER Radio streaming to stop. so i reinstalled the OS and i'm using XINE REALPLAYER, and AMAROK as video and music players.
The only problem i'm having now is how to stream WMV files from the internet. For example, if i go to CNN website and i try to watch a clip , i get a message that my browser is not supported. We have to admit that a lot of mutimedia files over the internet are in WMA and WMV formats. i know that a lot linux users solved this problem buy runnning Mplayer-Mlayer firefox plugin combination. i don't want to take the risk of wipping my computer again. i would like to use XINE to stream videos over the internet. i don't know if that it possible or not so please help ....
