Wireless Networking GUI Fedora
Here is how I set up my wireless config using fedora on a T43.
su - # iwlist scan I find the right AP in the list, and connect by typing the SSID in the network config manager GUI. how can I scan for networks with a GUI like windows? In addition i need WPA support. My wireless connection works; But id just like a GUI to scan for networks. Thanks. |
Network Manager provides that function:
yum -y install NetworkManager |
umm...thats already installed. With network manager I cannot scan available networks. I can only input the SSID in the wireless eth1 connection.

Are you updated? When you click on the icon, the list of APs in range is provided. You can select one from the list.

I think im updated: What exactly do I do. I open the network manager and I see my two connections: ethernet and wireless under the devices tab. Eth0=wired eth. Eth1=wireless ethernet. I activate it...and how do i scan? The other tabs are Hardware, IP Sec, DNS, and Hosts.

That's the network configuration dialog from the preferences menu.
Network Manager is an application that handles switching between networks interfaces and scanning for wireless access points. |
how?
How do I find the network manager?
