What do you need winrar for? That's for windows. You need a programme for unrar on linux. What distro are you using?

If you are using redhat, presuming you have everything set up then can't you use Yum to install packages? So do yum install unrar. Unrar manages rar packages in linux.

download and compile the latest Xarchiver.
handles most types including rar.
nice graphical prog like winrar for windows.
the linux winrar is just a set of command line utilities, no need to install them.
