Very low, my friend. I think that the radeon drivers arent't instaled. Check it with "glxinfo" and take a look if there is a line like "direct rendering: yes".
If you want a ideia of how much your system is slow to show openGl graphics, take a look of my ouptup of glxgears (athlon 2000+, 256Mb RAM, GeForce 3 Ti 200):
18224 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3644.800 FPS
18623 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3724.600 FPS
18612 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3722.400 FPS
18605 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3721.000 FPS
18590 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3718.000 FPS
18596 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3719.200 FPS
My system is not so better than yours, so I'm (almost) sure that is a problem about video drivers.
I get almost the same framerate as joh_k in a P4 - 2GHZ. But 3724.600 FPS as mrogerf has is just wow That shows why I should not buy a cheap graphic card like I did (Geforce 4 MX 440) and get a ti instead...
Anyway, I don't face any problems as jon_k. Do you hear if the HD is spinning to fast or something? Sounds like a swap problem... But mrogerf also may be right
Stop masturbating with FPS and lunch glxinfo instead and look for string Direct Rendering : Yes; dont forget whe are linux users so we are 1337s not damned lamer
Yes I'v got winex running on my PC (radeon 9600+k71600+ + 256Mo) I play cs & warIII.
To install 3D on your babasse look into the success story in this forum and search for something like 'in works on my radeon 9000'.
I get about a 1500 in games on windows... so maybe its just that linux is sucking arse because it has shit drivers for my particular card or something I guess... I wanted help resolving my problem, not everying saying 'hee hee i got a better system!! ha ha!!!'
anyways, heres the output of glxinfo for those of you who actually WANT to help someone.

We are trying to help you. If you read our posts you would see that we gave tips about check your system. The output of your "glxinfo" says "direct rendering: No" that meaning your system isn't usinf hardware acceleration.
Go to ATI page, and look for properly linux video drivers for your video card. OK ?
hehe, that's funny. I've tried to help you out so many times in this forum (apt-get, mplayer and others) and you come back with such childish attitude. I've not tried to say my system is better then yours. If you actually read correctly, you will see that I even said that I have a cheap bad graphics card compared to mrogerf', how compared his system as being close to yours.
Clearly, you've not read the docs and installed correctly the card for getting such bad fps. (as you do most of the times)
"o maybe its just that linux is sucking arse because it has shit drivers for my particular card or something I guess"
Or maybe you can't configure it correctly, because or you type wrong at the teminal, or you don't fully read docs. Anyway, I've at last, someone in my black list to do not help
john_k, sorry too. I believe we both have been having a bad day/ or miss read the things said above. This happens quite often everywhere. Surely I will help you if I can, because I know you will do the same, not only for me, but I've seem you helping out many peoples here around with rpm's and other stuff that you could not in the beginning. Keep at it buddy . And sorry to come rude too. There's always two ways to say the same thing and I clearly choose the wrong one.
