WineX install error


HI i try to install wineX on my redhat 8.0

I type

$ ./tools/wineinstall

WINE Installer v0.71

then it stop, am i missing some compiler or somthing?, what is gcc , cc and cl ?
iam a noob with this but keen to learn

Yes, your missing gcc, and probably a lot of other important parts that you need to compile from source. Best thing to do here is boot from your install cd and upgrade the installation with all the devel packages - do not, under any circumstances, format your hard drive.

gcc is a compiler. Translates the source code into a binary that can be used by the computer.
