WineX
can anyone help me set up WineX using a CVS tree(whatever this is)
Im not a suscriber and dont wanna be so i guess this is the only way although i have no idea what to do thanks |
Transgaming is deserving of cash. Its 15 bucks for 3 month subscription. It is in my opinion that if you can afford a computer then you can afford $5 bucks a month. Otherwise learn how to use CVS by yourself.

they prob do deserve the cash for it,
but im new to linux and am not comfortable with it yet plus the only reason i tried it was because doesnt cost $ once i am comfortable and have faith in it then i will prob put some money into it but as for now i cant just take someone on the internets word that linux is the best thing ever |
well, if you want winex, there is a site that has some rpm's built (and i think there is one for mandrake)
http://www003.portalis.it/115/downloadwinex32.html download the one for mandrake and install it using the rpm tool (Mods, please remove the link if it is against any rules) |
thanks

ok
i DLed it and installed now how do i open it? |
you don't actually open it....you use it to run windows native programs/games....
so for example, lets say you have a game on cd, and to install it you have to run setup.exe, and if thats the case then an example of what you will do is open up the terminal and type winex /mnt/cdrom/setup.exe... again that is purely an example...the executable may not be winex, it might be simply wine (if you got cvs version, which its usualy like that) or it could be winex3 or something similiar....in any case, once you find what its actual executable is, then the above example still stands true on how to use wine(x).. |
