WineHQ question


ok, i just installed wine, and everything went well. but i am trying to run wineconsole and it says segmentation fault. I tried as both my user and root.

Any suggestions would be great.

The program crashed. Try it again. If it's the same, maybe try to install it again (from other archive) or compile.

reinstalled

ok i reinstalled wine, downloaded it from a different archive, and it still is giving me segmentation faults.

XMMS crashed the same way a couple of times also.

Any suggestions?

Is the RPM made for your platform and distribution? I've had segmentation faults on occasion when I try to install a RedHat RPM on my Mandrake system, for example. I've had fairly good luck with the Dataparty RPMs. If all else fails, you could try compiling from source - that usually seems to give the best results for me.
