Wine with Diablo II

Hey, I've set up diablo II and it all runs ok in wine but, does anyone know how I get it to play in a window instead of full screen? I tried changing my wine settings to make wine apps run on a virtual desktop at 800x600 but then it wont run from winefile in there, I can only get it to run when wine is set to 'unmanaged' or 'managed'. Any ideas?

I considered it to be more of a software question, as I wanted to know how to get all wine apps, not just Diablo, that run full screen by default to run in a window instead. Wine apps, as far as I'm aware, would be considered a 'Software' topic..

Use Winex it plays very well under winex and with point to play you can configure it to play in a window.

The answer to your question is in the WINE documentation. Read it carefully several times. However, running Windows games on a real Windows system beats the performance and stability of WINE.

Well, it's only really for diablo I use consoles for my other gaming 'needs' . Diablo II runs perfectly with my version of wine it's just this one little irritation. Thanks for the help.

Dood. Just start Diablo II, and then push 'Ctrl'+'Alt'+'+' until X has resized proporly. Then when you exit, just do a few 'Ctrl'+'Alt'+'-', and you will be back to regular again. =) However, the newest verion of Wine will automatically switch video modes if you don't like doing this.

Thanks a lot that worked, I would use the newer version of wine but I had trouble installing diablo on it. Now I just have to sort out getting it to work on battle.net !
