Wine Windows and DVDShrink

Hello all.
I'm trying to get DVDShrink working on Ubuntu.
When I run winesetup I get the following error.

james@YaAqoB:~$ winesetup
CBase::AutoConf:GetWinInstalls: unable to grep /mnt/WindowsDrv/msdos.sys: child process exited abnormally
CBase::AutoConf:GetWinInstalls: unable to grep /mnt/WindowsApps/msdos.sys: child process exited abnormally

Both these two drives are read only NTFS drives. (I have dual boot)

Therefore now when I use wine to install DVDShrink it tries to install it to c:\program files\dvd shrink.
It don't seem to want to install to the fake windows directories that wine is supposed to create... I think...
Any clues any one?

consider using this method
works fine for me.

I highly recommend using yum to install the tools needed.

If you have a dual boot with windows then yes wine will by default want to install to NTFS partition ...don't let it. Simply specify ~/.wine/fake_windows as the install directory.
