WINE: Unable to get microphone working
Whenever I startup a multiplayer game of Half Life it'll add about 10 seconds to the loading time and outputs the error message:
Unable to initialize DirectSoundInput. Trying Wave-In. The wave capture device is busy.
Unable to initizlize wavein device. You will not be able to use a microphone to communicate in game.
I have a microphone, and it works and everything, it's just that somehow the device doesn't seem to be passed to WINE properly (or else something is tying it up.) Do I have to change permissions on a device somewhere, or stop some sort of program?
I'm using a pretty recent CVS build of WineX by the way.
Oh yeah I'm using the ALSA sound drivers and I tried muting most of the wave in stuff in the alsa-mixer program. That didn't seem to help.
