wine setup for ethernet for win apps
hi
i've been trying to get wine working mainly so that i can use linux's cooler networking capabilities for win apps that haven't been ported to linux (yet). i went through the basic gui setup of wine. i mapped C to /dev/hda1 where i have win xp installed. D is to /dev/hda5 where i have some other apps. now, when i start an app, it is unable to perform any networking functions. i've left most settings as they were detected. when i searched for info on this, the general opinion was that i didn't have to setup anything differently and it should work on it own. the two network devices are mapped like this: one is Y: to #{HOME} and Z to /. these look more like lan settings/network browsing. any idea why this problem is occuring? |
