wine problems

hello I've just installed winde and a GUI called winetools and am having problems installing applications. i click on the install applications icon and i am prompted to enter the location of the exe file... when i click ok the dialog closes and nothing happens....

does any one know what may be causing this

also ive heared there is a version of wine a can install which comes with a gui.. aparently the gui is called wine to... does any one know where i can obtain a copy ?

there's wine
and there's winex
winex has to be paid for
wine is free

wine isn't as good (seemingly)

you can try invoking the .exe from the command line
example: wine /path/to/executable

(wine needs to be setup before it works properly and will make a fake_windows set up to install programs into)
