im running redhat 8.0 and as root i am trying to run an install file for kazaa.
i type wine /downloaded/kmd.exe and I get this
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
Could not stat /cdrom (No such file or directory), ignoring drive D:
Warning: could not find wine config [Drive x] entry for current working directory /downloaded; starting in windows directory.Warning: L"/downloaded/kmd.exe" not accessible from a configured DOS drive
Warning: L"/downloaded/kmd.exe" not accessible from a configured DOS drive
wine: cannot find '/downloaded/kmd.exe'
I know the file is that dir and the man page says i can point to the file in a unix style.
no doubt that the file is there, but the problem is, is that your wine is not setup properly...
download: winetools
and let that program automatically set up your fake windows drive and then try installing it again...and actually on that note, since your installing kazaa your not going to get it working the way you were trying to, so go here: setting up kazaa under wine
and follow them instructions after you setup your wine folder properly with winetools...
goodluck!
Ok I downloaded winetools, but when i use fileroller to untar it i get this error:
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
ok I created the fake windows drive, and tried to install kmd.exe from within winetools, but it does nothing. It will list the path to the kmd.exe, but when i click on the install button the path of the kazaa file goes away. So then i went into a prompt and typed wine /downloaded/kmd.exe, and i get the same output as before when i didnt have a fake windows drive set up.
Warning: could not find wine config [Drive x] entry for current working directory /downloaded; starting in windows directory.Warning: L"/downloaded/kmd.exe" not accessible from a configured DOS drive
Warning: L"/downloaded/kmd.exe" not accessible from a configured DOS drive
wine: cannot find '/downloaded/kmd.exe'
I have good luck running many Windows apps in Wine but when I try to use an application that requires network access it states that it cannot connect. Is there a configuration somewhere that needs addressed or is this even possible? Some of the programs I am trying to use are EtherPeek, L0pht Crack and Brutus.
