Wine problem, was unable to get help in last post.

Creation of a global config file is not supported in wineinstall at this
time. When the configuration architecture is cleaned up this functionality
will be restored to wineinstall.

You are running as root. Do you want a local config file,
file, ~/.wine/config, created?
(yes/no) yes
Found existing /root/.wine/config, if you continue this file will be
overwritten. Continue running wineinstall?
(yes/no) yes

Searching for an existing Windows installation... found.

Created /root/.wine/config using your existing Windows installation.
You probably want to review the file, though.

Checking for real Windows registry...
Not found, default Wine registry will be installed.

Compiling regapi...
rm -f regapi && ln -s ../../wine regapi

Preparing to install default Wine registry entries...
Installing default Wine registry entries...

wine: chdir to /root/.wine/wineserver-cpe000ae685f7be-cm014270106759.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com : No such file or directory
Registry install failed.

Yes I've searched the forums and found similar topics but the solutions they suggest provide me with the same error. ( I've tried rpm's.)
My version of WINEX was downloaded from CVS so I suppose it is the latest. Thanks for any help.

Hrmmm I know tried the command :

export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5

And I bypass the old error message but get a new one =/

wine /mnt/win/sierra/half-life/hl.exe
wine: lstat /root/.wine/wineserver-cpe000ae685f7be-cm014270106759.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com/socket : No such file or directory

What I want to know is why it keeps trying to change directories to these weird folders?
