You cannot just click on an executable file after you have installed wine. You have to first setup your wine configuration as explained here - http://www.winehq.com/site/howto

Then you have to open a terminal and follow these instructions - http://frankscorner.org/modules.php?...3e5e4ed996100d

Although I don't really see the point in using Winamp on Linux. The program xmms works exactly like Winamp, without the hassle of using wine.

ya should get a program called winetools. It makes setting up a fair bit easier.
and once its configured its best to start the app from command line using
$>wine setup.exe or if your gui person right click setup.exe and 'open with' then type wine

yeah I use xmms.
the only better thing about winamp is the mad Vis plugins.
I only use wine for trillian and kazaalite :)

and also, lets take note that there is a winamp for linux, but in any case, like already mentioned, xmms would be your best bet..
