wine installed but unusable!
 

I installed wine version Wine 20030115.
It installed and works with supplied programs like notepad and winemine.
But when I try to install some Windows programs using it, it does not work. Following are the messages I get e.g.:

1)When installing ms xlviewer:

$ winelauncher ../../Setups/xlViewer.exe
Invoking /home/mayureshk/apps/bin/wine ../../Setups/xlViewer.exe ...

2) When installing DAP 5.3:

$ winelauncher ../../Setups/dap53.exe

/usr/bin/winedbg: cannot find '134684248'

Wine failed with return code 1

that's what wine normally does... it's alpha software... try using winesetuptk to change the settings and check winehq's compatability list fo rtips on running each individual progrma. but wine is by no means a stable product
