Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hi, im attempting to install wine but ive run into problems. I chose to do the simplest way of installing, aka using the installwine bin in the tools directory. Everything goes fine until the very end, where it attempts to build the wine registry entries. Here is the error I recieve:
Searching for an existing Windows installation..../tools/wineinstall: line 453:
/tmp/wineinstall.conf: Permission denied
rm: cannot remove `/tmp/wineinstall.conf': Operation not permitted
not found. (no matching /etc/fstab mount entry found)
Windows was not found on your system, so I assume you want
a Wine-only installation. Am I correct?
Configuring Wine without Windows.
Some fake Windows directories must be created, to hold any .ini files, DLLs,
start menu entries, and other things your applications may need to install.
Where would you like your fake C drive to be placed?
(default is /home/god/c)
Configuring Wine for a no-windows install in /home/god/c...
./tools/wineinstall: line 543: /tmp/wineinstall.conf: Permission denied
Created /home/god/.wine/config using default Wine configuration.
You probably want to review the file, though.
make: Nothing to be done for `all'.
Could not stat /home/god/.transgaming/c_drive (No such file or directory), ignoring drive C:
Invalid path L"c:\\windows" for L"windows" directory: does not exist.
Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file,
which is (supposed to be) '/home/god/.wine/config'.
Registry install failed.
