wine installation of windows apps

I have been using Linux for awhile but just today I started to use wine.

I got it working with some of the listed applications but still trying to understand the inner works of it.

err:wave:OSS_WaveOutInit /dev/mixer1: No such file or directory
err:wave:OSS_WaveInInit /dev/mixer1: No such file or directory
when I try to install a monitor app, this is the error I get....what does this mean?

any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated..
