Question WINE in Level 3


hi to all . i need some help .

i just installed a program in Wine ..
its a Satellite Reciever Appilication " Orginally For Windows "

anyway this program runs perfecly in the GUI . " run Level 5 "
now iam trying to do the same thing in Run Level 3 ..

$wine /home/username/.wine/drive_c/Program files/Application.exe

it crashes , i beleive its tring to execute a GUI which Fails ..


Any Ideas ????

Windows apps in general are GUI only - start X before trying to run your command.

yes i figured , usually i start at run level 5 to get any windows Program running .. but can i just run it in level 3 without gui ??

Wine needs a display to run your app - therefore you need to start X. You can run X at runlevel 3.
