Question Wine Howto

Hi Again folks... Next question, sorry if you count this as a multi post, i thought i'd keep siubjects seperate.

I've installed redhat 8 dualbooted with WINXP, it works a treat, my network is ok and net access etc. I'm happy and liking it.

However, i use several chat proggies (EYEBALL, ICQ, YAHOO) and i'd like to run them under linux and not have to keep switching back to XP (Kinda defeats the point of linux on my machine).

I also run my games on XP (Allthough i know i've not a cats chance in hell of getting Neverwinter or NOLF2 to run in linux) so this is the reason for XP.

I've heard WINE or WINEX will do the job for me, however i've not a clue how to go about this, i've been looking at the web and at any info i can find on wine, but for a newb its looking bleak.

Does anyone have a good HOWTO or some install and run tips to get the chat proggs running?? I do IT for a living, so i know once im shown once, i'll get the hang of it. None of my colleuges run linux, so i'm pioneering here lol.

Cheers !!

go to www.winehq.com. For the chat programs, why not try gaim? just load the needed plugins and you can chat via yahoo, msn, icq aim and much more with just one application.

hey, here two things.
1. do u want to know about wine
or
2. u just wnat to run chat proggies to run on linux.

if ur intention is 2, then go to yahoo site, where u can find yahoo messenger for many distributions of linux(I am sure it is available for your redhat distribution, since I down loaded the same).

or if ur intention is to run any windows prog on linux( indirectly it means u want to know about wine), then go to http://www.frankscorner.org/wine for tutorials on wine.
