Usage: wine [options] [--] program_name [arguments]
The -- has to be used if you specify arguments (of the program)

Options:
--debugmsg name Turn debugging-messages on or off
--dll name This option is no longer supported
--help,-h Show this help message
--version,-v Display the Wine version
[root@localhost bin]#

does that mean its working right?? and is all installed correctly and ready 2 use? if not what more do i need to do? thanks a bunch for all this help guys..i am learning tons..

oh d00d, everything was working fine before you went and tried the rpm (for
whatever reason) ... dont' fix what isn't broken ....
and your not going to have a pretty icon for "wine" itself ...
open a termainl and type :
wine program.exe

to test it out ... if it works then you can make a shortcut icon to it, but you have to use
the command above as its shortcut command ...

win95 just means that it's using the Windows 95 filesystem (FAT32), not that it'll try to fake Windows 95. Believe me, for WINE filesystems, win95 is the best.

PS. winecfg and winesetup are GUI frontends to some of WINE.
