First find out where the wine dlls were installed to (default is /usr/local/lib/wine). When you locate the directory add that path to /etc/ld.so.conf then run ldconfig.

Question can wine print windows documents?

hi,

I'm new to Wine.

1. Will wine be able to print documents ( say MS word file ) running windows apps?

2. Does the printer have to be local ? Can it be a network printer ?

3. What's the difference between Wine and WineX ?

4. What's the simplest way to install and use Wine ?

5. Will Wine be able to work using X client? My idea is to use
Wine to be the 'windows' server and use X client such as vnc viewer on multiple pc to access the windows app

Thank you

yes, you have to set it up in the config file
2. Does the printer have to be local ? Can it be a network printer ?
no
3. What's the difference between Wine and WineX ?
winex is for games that use directx 8.1, wine is just for software
4. What's the simplest way to install and use Wine ?
rpm, never did it though, go open soure!
5. Will Wine be able to work using X client? My idea is to use
Wine to be the 'windows' server and use X client such as vnc viewer on multiple pc to access the windows app
no clue?

I just downloaded and installed CodeWeaver Wine RPM package.

It works pretty well when wine is run with a windows partition ie
I can run MS Office

However running wine with a fake windows set up does produce some problems.

1. Question is how can I install a printer under the fake windows set up ? Which exe to run or do I need to change config

2. How do I use and install the standard Windows fonts. Running
wine on fake windows set up produces very ugly n unready fonts

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks
