"wine: failed to create the process heap", in Fedora Core 2

I was trying to install wine for my out-of-the-box Fedora Core 2. As I didn't find any RPM's for my distribution (yet) I just wanted to try downloading source and compiling. Not hard, i just un-tar'ed it and run

./tools/wineinstall

as the README in the Wine site says. It makes and installs ok and when i try to run it invariably says:

wine: failed to create the process heap

no matter what i do. I've tried also teh Fedora Core 1 RPM and after installation (no problem during this) i try to run it and gives the same error message. Suggestions?

apparently it's a known bug to do with the 4M memory available in the newer linux versions oppsed to Windows expecting to handle only 3M memory.

there is a workaround posted in this site.

lol, i tried the code they describe in vmware, my screen went black and didn't get any signal anymore , had to restart
eventually i realised that fedora core 2 is crap > too many bugs
distros like mandrake, suse, red hat really suck

choose gentoo, debian or slackware, than at least u learn something
