Wine extremely slow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all. I am tring Wine (last release) on Mandrake 10.1 and Windows apps run extreeeemely slow. For example I was tring to install Adobe Acrobat Reader 4 and I just couldn't finish the instalation becasue of the slowness. Is there something I need to configure to make it run smoothly? My specs are

Pentium 4 at 1.5Ghz.
512 MB RAN
40 GB HD

Thanks!!!

hmm your specs seem fine for it. i can only think that the prblem would be that wineing adobe uses alot of system resources and uses swap memory for some of it. i have wined lots of programmes and some have run slow and some fast.

Thanks guys. I know there is Acrobat for Linux, I just run the installation of Acrobat Reader to test how wine works, and it was really slow.
Also, if I want to use windows apps on wine do I have to install them again or I can just use an existing intallation from a windows partition?
