WINE Crashes in Mint 19 fresh install

I installed MINT 19 on a desktop and tried running WINE or Playonlinux. It opens but crashes when I try installing iTunes or e-sword. errors read FS-Check and POL_Wine. The programs do not go. WINE was configured to Windows 7 and Windows 2008. Mint 19 comes with WINE. I noticed there were a lot of versions of WINE. There is 3.0... and it seems to use 1.78 or some old version, not sure. The stable version.

Should I re-install WINE, as I have started doing anyway? Or use a terminal to install another version?

Did you run winecfg? Did you add the applications to wine? Havew you tried winetricks? Do you have 32-bit compatibility libs installed?

In my opinion, wine is nearly unusable most of the time. It's hit or miss, so I just quit using it. I keep a Windows virtual machine in virtualbox for running Windows stuff.

I think in regards to winecfg I tried windows 7 and 2008. In Mint 19 it is called playonlinux. I installed winetricks. It asked permission to install 32bit compatibility, although it is a 64 bit computer. I am trying uninstalling and re-installing and maybe trying a newer version, like 3.0.2.
