Wine: Copy/Paste

This is probably an easy "duh" question, but I've googled for it, and found nothing that gives me a definitive answer. Sorry if it's an old question answered before...

Can I copy-paste from a Windows application running in Wine into another application running in Linux?

I write books (commentaries on the Bible) and so I use a word processing program (Writer in OpenOffice) to do all my work. But, when I need to include a quoted Bible verse, I copy it from a Bible program and paste it into my word processor, using Styles to clean it up. Easy.

Problem: There is no Bible program or module (e.g. The Sword Project) for my language -- Spanish, Reina-Valera 1960. So, I'm forced to use a Windows Bible program in Wine, if I am to use Linux at all.

The last time I installed Wine (a month ago?) and tried again to migrate to Linux (Slack 11.0), I couldn't get "copy/paste" to work from Wine to OpenOffice. If I can't get Bible verses copied into OpenOffice... "migration" is a joke.

Then my motherboard blew up (sparks, smoke, etc.) and I have yet to install Slack again because of this problem.

Anyone have any input or advice?

Thanks.

I just did a copy from a Windows program running under Wine with a paste into OpenOffice Writer on my Slackware system.
Works fine.

Thanks. It's weird that it didn't work for me... I don't know why... But, like I said, my motherboard blew up (literally) and I haven't yet installed Slack to get back at it.

I've also been looking into VMWare, and apparently with Server + VMware Tools you can have the same "drag-n-drop" function.

I appreciate your help.
