Wine and x11drv issue plus other errors as well

I'm running Suse 9.2 and have been trying to install a simple little app in wine but i keep getting a few errors and don't have a clue what they want me to do with them. Posted below are the errors if someone could steer me in the right direction. Too new at linux to be much help to myself just yet.
******************************
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

wine: Could not load graphics driver 'x11drv'.
Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly.
******************************
Big THANKS up front

Part of solving ur problem is know exactly which program where you trying to run. Anyways, make sure you are not running wine as root.. it can be dangerous.

I was trying to install a small graphics viewer called iview395.exe which I use a lot on my XP puter to convert files. This morning I did get another small password mngr. called Acerose to install , or at least it appears to have installed, and I can find it in the c drive under programs but it will not open when I click on it or try to open from the console. In the console it just says there is no such file. As you can surely tell I am a , but I want to learn this if my old 67 yr old brain hasn't gone too far south on me. Appreciate the help.

Hey Taz, you dont need to use all the applications that are on windows on the linux box. There are plenty of applications which can do the same job natively in linux. For instance, for Irfanview in Windows, there exists a Gwenview in Linux. Well there are many more but I'd like to know which desktop manager you are using.. Gnome or KDE, then I guess I can give u more examples.
Regarding Acerose. I tried to install it myself, I think its not supported by wine yet and so the errors. In anycase.. you can give a try to KDEwallet, which I think is a similar application.
Glad to have you on LinuxQuestions

Hey valarie_tux, Thank you for getting back to me so quick. I do use KDE and it seems to suit me pretty well. As far as using the apps from Linux , I do use them and like most of what they have. I mainly wanted to try using wine just to see if I could and thought that I would try a couple of simple things first. I will probably wind up installing Crossover Office when I become a little more familiar with Linux. I have a real fondness for Dreamweaver, Photoshop 7.0, and Ofiice XP and have been using them for several years kinda got use to them and I know they run pretty well there. Again a big thank you.
