Unhappy Wine and Paint Shop Pro 9 ??

Has anybody had any success with running PSP9 with Wine... I dont need the installation instructions.. I have it installed all fine. I just had to follow the same instructions for psp8. The problem is that whenever I try to apply any effect.. (e.g. automatic colour enhancement) it gives me an error saying

"Unable to create file"

Its bugging. I can open files, I can browse, I can even save new blank files but I cant apply any effect.

Another thing that is bugging.. there is no way of undoing.. cos after every second operation it gives me an error saying it was not able to save the undo information.

I think this has to do with the temporary file location.. the file location is fine..
The fact that psp7 and psp8 works just fine baffles me all the more.

Need some ray of hope telling me that I can fix this.. and I dont need to run to Gimp for something I'd do so easily in Paint shop pro.

Gimp > paint shop pro

Sorry ... had to say it .

Photoshop is better than both, in my opinion. Anywho...as said above, photoshop works great with wine.

Unhappy

I just bought PaintShopPro... I am addicted to it.. have been working with it since version5. And I definitely cannot afford Photoshop. I am also addicted to Linux. Seems like there is no way both can work togeter

How did you get it installed?

How did you install Paint Shop Pro? I have SuSE 9.3 and have not been able to install PSP yet.

Paint Shop Pro

No, I don't have crossover office, yet. I didn't want to make the investment until I thought it might work, but I might.

Smile Exact problem!

Valerie_tux, I am having the *exact* same problem you are, to a T. I had no problems with installation, but I can't make do anything, really, in PSP. I love PSP as well. If you've found a solution, please e-mail me at thebrainysmurf@mgail.com
