wine & ole32.dll

Hi,

I am using wine-20040615 on my fedora core 2 machine

I managed to get office 2000 installed.
However, word is giving some errors.

I saw in some of the forums that to run office you need to ask wine to use the native version of ole32.dll
My wine installation does not have this file in the c:\windows\system directory.

Is there a problem with my wine installation or do I have to get this dll from somewhere?

I tried to copy this file from my true windowsXP installation. However, word crashed when using this dll file. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, wine needs win98 dll's to work well. Since very peoples have Win98 left, it makes everything so much harder. Anyway:

there is a bunch of dll's. They are required to run Kazaa under wine. One of them is ole.dll that you might want to put in wine's System directory. I'm not sure if that would work, but I wish you luck

PS: I'd also recommend you OpenOffice or Crossover Office to install MS Office without a problem....
