Wine and DOS Quicken 5.0/6.0

Has anyone ever gotten a DOS version of quicken
to run on one of the later releases of Wine?

I just installed wine-20030219 and can run notepad.exe
and sol.exe, but get all sorts of error messages
when trying to run Quicken 5.0.

I read a snippet some time ago, which I cannot find
now, about someone running Quicken with wine version
9811....

Not a big deal, but if anyone has any suggestions....

TIA

If you ever get Quicken to work well with WINE, please PM me! I'm trying to do the same thing with Quicken 6 (for Windows)

Just out of curiosity, have you given Gnucash a try? I realize it isn't Quicken, but it is a very powerful and capable accounting software. I started using it about two years ago and never looked back. If you are interested, check it out...

I actually have been playing with GNUcash for about 2 days now, and imported my Quicken QIF files into it. Just trying to get used to it right now, but it's big change tho', as all of my data is on it (Quicken that is), so we'll see...

my experience with wine is that it is aptly named - that is usually what i do when I use it. I can not get it to work with Quicken 2 (1992 vers). If i use it gently ("read only"), I can view my transactions.
b4 u try it, Back Up your quicken files!!

I shud have noted that i only use Check-Free in quicken - perhaps other features work better. (but, backup them files)

After a not-so-vigorous search of other possible solutions,
I am about to try Win4lin for a 15 day trial. Unfortunately,
if you want to continue to use it, it's about $90.

However, from what I've read, it may be worth it.
