windows connectting to linux w/printer issue

Hello,

I have moved my Lexmark z11 printer to my RHFC4 machine and have it printing. I have gone into Samba and setup the printer as a share. From Windows XP I can see the printer but it displays as localhost, which of course is the loop back and does not work. So how do I change this to something other than localhost on the Linux system?

Hi,

Have you tried changing the setting for the printer on the Windows computer? You could try going to the FC4 box and typing 'ifconfig' into a console to get your IP address. Then, go over to the Windows computer and change the printer's settings to be as an IP from the address we gathered previously. That should do the trick.

Cheers,

-jk
