window managers-please dont flame me,lol


Is there any way to install a window manager (fluxbox, windowmaker) without a C compiler installed?

Sure, grab an RPM or a pre-packed version for your distro (saw your back to RH, there should be some on your CD's or the FTP). You've also got things like Synaptic that work with RPM's, no need to have GCC (a C compiler) for that.

OOHhhhhh.... so i dont need a compiler for rpms but i do need one for tar.gz files? if so how can i get a compiler installed without using the RH package installer program?

LOL, i couldnt get slack installed

rpm is already a binary file
