Will apps developed for ubuntu phones work on ubuntu desktop systems?

Hey everyone,
I am a final year computer science student. And i am working on our final year project. I really liked the step-by-step tutorials provided for devoloping apps for ubuntu phones with QML and java-script. With limited knowledge base, I would want to follow the same to make a small software that works on ubuntu and other linux distributions. Is it possible?

If you're a final year computer science student, shouldn't you know the answer?

Applications depend on the libraries and hardware behind them. Same architecture+Same Libraries=working code. Does this Ubuntu phone have the same CPU/architecture as your desktop? Same libraries?

It looks like Debian has a QML viewer, so I would expect Ubuntu to have one too:
