WiFi radar signal strength issue

I'm using Slackware 13.37, I installed WiFi radar from Slackbuilds. It detects my home network and other networks correctly, but "Signal" coloumn behaves strangely. Sometimes it shows 4 bars, the moment later only one. It seems like it checks the network state every second or so. It's annoying because I have to stare at the screen for a few seconds before I see the signal strength. Can it be fixed or that's the way it is?

I would guess that it's the normal behaviour. I must admit I don't normally keep it open - I just connect and close it. I'll have a check to see if there's an update available.

*edit: no updates at the moment. I've passed your query on to the mailing list to see what comes to light.
