Okkay , a small update.

Like I said , the lappie was with the service centre for upgrades. It was the 2nd 4gb kingston memory chip that was causing all kinds of problems, like frequent browser crashes (every 10/30 secs) , slow responses, wifi block etc.

I had to open the lappie , and remove it manually , since it was out of warranty period anyway.
Now all things are working nicely.

Thanks.

Or maybe FM stands for "frankbell magic"
FM is what we would say when a problem mysteriously disappeared.

Customer: What was wrong?

Tech: Oh, it was an FM problem.

rfkill and hard block

Well, maybe not relevant for any of you anymore, but for me it was.

My HP laptop randomly refuses to switch on wifi on/off button.

$> rfkill list -> hard blocked on

S> 'rfkill unblock all' does not help.

For me this worked:

$> sudo rmmod iwl4965
$> sudo modprobe iwl4965

Hope this is usefull for someone.
