wicd does not automatically REconnect
 

My local utility company thinks its perfectly OK for there to be momentary lapses in its power supply.

When this happens the router I wirelessly connect to goes down, and my laptop loses its internet connection. When power is restored, the router comes back up again, but wicd does not automatically reconnect, even though this option is checked for the WPA2 network concerned. The wicd-client gui at that point shows "Not Connected" in its status line. If I then press the Connect button for that network it instantly reconnects.

Does anyone have any suggestions for why reconnection is not automatic in this situation?
